Thanks to everyone who has supported our trip to the

January 1, 2008 Tournament of Roses Parade!

 

• Our Tag Day Supporters. On September 9, the people of West Chester and Liberty Townships contributed over $26,000 during our door-to-door Tag Day campaign.
  
  
• Anonymous Sponsor - Rose Parade Jackets. A local company donated $20,000 to buy Rose Parade logo jackets for all members of the Marching Firebirds for the trip to Pasadena.
  
  
• Anonymous Sponsor - Band Equipment Transportation. Marching Band instruments, uniforms, and equipment will be transported to and from Padadena courtesy of a local company.
  
  
• Paavo Järvi and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra performed a special benefit concert for the Lakota band program on October 9. Special thanks to Gary West and Larry Brueshaber for organizing the event! Concert sponsors included:

• Pickerington Central Band Director Michael Sewell and Pickerington Music Boosters. These great folks from Pickerington, near Columbus, have been to the Rose Parade three times (1993, 1997, 2006). They have been true sponsors of the Marching Firebirds by providing guidance throughout the Rose Parade selection process and during our preparations this year. They even made a trip to West Chester on a wintry evening last January to meet with our band staff and Upbeat Club officers.
