Aloha, LWMF Moms & Dads!!! I
feel it necessary to “share joy” with
you and return the favor of having allowed me to
accompany your young people to Hawaii. I
had assumed you were merely entrusting them to
us “chaperones”, but as always with
this band, I received a gift far greater.
Please accept my sincere thank-you for a very
special time. You can be confident in your
success as “super-parents”. I
enjoyed a wonderful trip to the Islands with some
of the most joy-filled, polite, and talented young
adults in the world.
Our community should truly “beam” with
joy, knowing that the fine students of the LWMF
will be fondly remembered by all the lives they
touched while miles away from home. As they
continue their personal journeys through life,
you have enabled them to happily recall high-school
and their LW marching band experience.
Fine students, fine musicians, and the finest
music program in the state.
Right before my eyes, I witnessed our young Buckeyes
bloom as lei-laden young adults blessed with Island
joy.

P.S. Hang Loose!!!
I second Mrs. Eckler’s message. I
would also like to thank all the parents for entrusting
their children to us. These kids were great
ambassadors of our community. I heard many
wonderful comments about how good are children
from the people we met in Hawaii. It was truly
moving to see them perform at Pearl Harbor and
then watch them come marching down Kalakaua Avenue
in Waikiki. There were no dry eyes at either
event. My biggest regret was that not everyone
could be there to see our kids at their finest. Lastly,
I want to thank these great young men and women
for making my trip to Hawaii so much fun.
Mahalo! Peter Bartram
