What's HOT...

  • BAND CAMP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - We are in need of volunteers who can help for a few hours one or more days, and/or evenings, at band camp. Help is needed Sunday from check-in until dark, and all day Monday – Friday (students are on the field at 7:45 am and their day is planned until dark). Help is needed in many different areas and your participation would help to ease the workload of the chaperones who are staying the entire week. If you can help, please contact Danielle Schrantz @ 777-0781 or ohschrantz@fuse.net . Thank you!

  • BAND CAMP CHAPERONES - We may be in need of a few more parents who are able to stay and chaperone the entire week of band camp. If you might be interested in helping out as a chaperone, please contact Danielle Schrantz @ 777-0781 or ohschrantz@fuse.net for more information.

  • Band Camp - For the Top Ten things you need to do to get ready for band camp, click HERE.

  • Requests for Medications for Band Camp - URGENT NEED!

Our nurse from camp last year is not able to be at camp this year and we are looking for a parent to fulfill this duty. She has prepared all the supplies and they are stocked according to last years needs. We just need someone to pick up the supplies prior to July 28th which is the first day of pre-camp.

It is EXTREMLY helpful to have all the band forms and medications brought to pre-camp. The day of move in is very hectic and would be very helpful to the parents and volunteers to have this information before hand.

  • Band Camp - Final payments for Band Camp are due July 14.

Click HERE to download the 2008/2009 Marching Band Handbook
Click HERE to download the Wright State Waiver form.

The Handbook includes forms that you need to print, complete, and bring to Pre-Camp on Monday, July 28 at 7:00am along with the waiver.

  • Volunteer Opportunity – Attention to anyone interested in volunteering to run the Spirit Gear Shop. Our current volunteer is stepping down and the position is now open.

Work on t-shirts for band camp must be started now. Please contact Judy Uchtman at 777.9041.

  • Volunteer Opportunity – 300 hungry teenagers need to be fed in 10 minutes – does this sound like just another night at your house?  Then you might be interested in volunteering for the Third Quarter Refreshment Team.  During football season, we need a team of parents to assemble before the home games to make preparations to provide cookies and drinks to the Firebirds as well as the visiting band members right after the half time programs are performed.  In case you haven’t checked out the web site calendar, the home games this season are September 5, September 19 (Homecoming/Freshman night), Oct 3, Oct 17 (Senior night), Oct 24.  Feel free to sign up for all games or specify certain games that work with your schedule.  To volunteer, please e-mail Kathy Sant at tsant1@cinci.rr.com with your preferences.

  • ATTENTION Jazz Lovers! The 2007-2008 Lakota West Jazz album is in production! The BLACK ALBUM features some of our favorite charts from this year and we trust that you will enjoy the "studio" sound that Tri-State Productions gives us. Please click here for an order form. We hope to have the album ready for release much earlier this year. Please e-mail Mr. Mitchell (drews.mitchell@lakotaonline.com) with any questions.

Stock up for the summer at Kroger!!

Even though school is out for the summer, you can still earn money for the Lakota West Bands by continuing to use your Kroger Rewords Gift Card. Don’t forget to use your Upbeat Club Kroger Reward Cards when you buy burgers, hot dogs and steaks for the grill. And even though we all hate the high price of gas, you can still use your Gift Cards at the Kroger Fuel pumps and earn money for the bands.

CLICK HERE for more information about the Kroger Rewards Card program! This past month the Lakota West Bands received a Kroger Rewards check for $810. The Lakota West Bands receive 4% of whatever Band Supporters load onto their Kroger Rewards cards each month. When your card gets low, simply reload it at the service desk, or ask your cashier before your groceries are scanned.

This is by far the easiest fundraiser for the band. If you shop at Kroger for any reason, make sure you have a Kroger Rewards Card from the Upbeat Club. It really is as easy as that!!

To learn how you can obtain an Upbeat Club Rewards Card and to see how much the band has raised each year from using the Kroger Rewards Card, see the fundraiser page at CLICK HERE.
